Simpson And Davis
My paternal grandparents were Lowell Leon Simpson and Grace Merle Lorraine Davis. The Simpsons were Scots-Irish who migrated to Delaware in the late 17th century. Clement Simpson moved to Ohio in 1804 and the family continued travelling west until they reached Nebraska, where Lowell was born in 1907.
Joseph Henry Davis, a teacher, migrated from Wexford, Ireland to Ontario, Canada in 1850. His grandson, Charles Elijah Davis, moved out west to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan shortly after 1901, where he owned and operated a livery stable, married Emily Campbell, and became a father to my grandmother, Grace, in 1915.
