I have a new ancestry composition. When my parents tested their DNA, 23andme used their results to get a better understanding of my results. I believe their terminology is that my DNA analysis was phased against their DNA. So here is my new ancestry breakdown:
35.0% British & Irish 25.6% Eastern European 11.4% Broadly Northern European 11.2% Balkan 6.5% Broadly European 3.5% Broadly Southern European 2.4% French & German 2.3% Scandinavian 1.1% Italian 0.3% West African 0.2% Native American 0.1% Finnish 0.1% Broadly Sub-Saharan African 0.1% Broadly East Asian & Native American 0.1% Unassigned So a lot of the more general "Broadly Northern European" has been assigned to the British. Some of the French & German has also been reassigned to British but some seems to have also gone into Eastern European and the Balkans. Basically, the fuzzy northern and central European DNA has been more sharply delineated into east and west Europe, which makes perfect sense given my parent's ancestries. |
