A while back, I wrote about why I believed that Duncan Campbell of Beckwith Township, Lanark County was my 3x great-grandfather, the grandfather of Peter Campbell.
This led me to take a new look at Annie Campbell. I have numerous solid DNA matches who descend from Nicholas Neil and Annie Campbell. Since Nicholas was from County Wexford, Ireland, and these matches also shared DNA with several close Davis cousins, my first thought was a connection somewhere on that line. However, I found that we also shared matches with more distant Campbell cousins. The connection was definitely through the Campbell family line. After digging through the loose land records of Beckwith Township on Familysearch, I found Duncan Campbell's will and some land indentures and a will that firmly put the matter to rest. These documents will also allow me to make a much stronger case that John was the son of Duncan and Catherine Campbell. Here is the proof.
